Florida Gators Fight for Ncaa Gymnastics Championship In Gainesville Florida the No. 2 seed Florida Gators University of Florida gymnastics team, will appear in Session I of the NCAA Championships team qualifying competition, Thursday, April 24 Time 1 pm EST.
Session I contains four of the five teams from the Southeastern Conference that advanced to the NCAA. They are Alabama, Arkansas and LSU with Oregon State and Big 12 champion Oklahoma by taking the other two slots of the team. Session II consists of UCLA, Denver, Georgia, Michigan, Stanford and Utah.
The 2008 NCAA Championships are April 24-26 at Stegeman Coliseum, University of Georgia. This season, he is a new addition to the Championships - the National Qualifying Score, which determined the pairs for a day of team competition in NCAA championships. The ranks teams 1-12 NQS based regional adding a team profile and their qualification score of the regional meeting. Teams 1, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 12 were placed Thursday Session II and teams of 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11 were placed in session I.
Florida advanced to the NCAA Championships as a No. 2 seed after winning the NCAA Southeast Regional held Saturday, April 12 at the Center Stephen C. O'Connell. The top three teams in each session on Thursday will advance to the NCAA Super Six on Friday, April 25 at 6 am, when the national team champion is determined.
