Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 - Watch our enthusiasm and fervor during the 2010 Commonwealth Games! The Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010 will be organized by the capital city of Delhi, India. Delhi has obtained the rights to host this prestigious event in competition with countries like Canada, Ontario and Hamilton. 1. Preparations for Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010
Sports Ministry will lead the event of the 2010 Commonwealth Games . Suresh Kalmadi, the honorable president of the Olympic Association of India, will be in charge of the organizing committee appointed for the Games. It was 26 March 2006, when the advertising campaigns for the Commonwealth Games began. The campaign was organized after the transfer of the flag of the Mayor of Melbourne Mayor in New Delhi.
Many stadiums are built to host this event. Not only that, the city of Delhi is expected to follow a program of complete renovation. The plan includes construction of new roads, new hotels, power plants and flyovers. Transport system will also be improved.
Besides, you also come across a village exclusively for the Commonwealth Games. This village is under way in the center of the city, near Akshardham neither tample and IP Estate. The 40 hectares of land is being developed to provide housing to over 8,500 athletes and officials.
