Olympic Deck StainPosted on April 5, 2010. I used the bridge and now own Olympic premium wood is nearly white. I think it started on time. Am I better to use a solid stain at this point? The white look that you meet, it is more of a look blurry or is it a solid white? I think there may be some residue left from the cleaner can be removed. I would also like to test the water on the surface, and you may have done to ensure that water or not beads on the surface. If the water does not bead or up or not soak in, then you need to use a stain / sealer remover. Olympic is not as a Sherwin Williams. I am more familiar with the Sherwin Williams product. After using the Stain / Sealer Remover then you would have to follow with a request for clarification of Revive Deck. This will restore the natural color of cedar wood and then you can stain.
