MNAC, short for the National Art Museum of Catalonia, Standing at a perfect position on Montjuic hill, Barcelona, Spain, boasts a wealth of historic art and modern.

The name "National Art Museum of Catalonia" or as the Spanish say "Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluna" was recently given. MNAC is the result of merging Catalonian Law Museum, Art Museum of Catalonia and Museum of Modern Art in 1990.

MNAC enjoys a rich collection of Romanesque art from 11th to 13th centuries, which are mostly taken from chapels and churches in and around Catalonia area. These are murals that have been made to the museum very carefully.

There is also a unique collection of Renaissance and Baroque items gifted by Thyssen-Bornemisza. Paintings like three beggars - It Pitocchetto - Giacomo Ceruti and famous sailing by on the shore near a village by Salomon Jacobsz are examples of papers in this section.

There is also a section dedicated to modern Catalan art mostly from the 19th century portrait which the artist's wife and children "by Claudi Lorenzale using oil on canvas and Ruins by Llu ÙŠ s Rigault.

The photograph also has a share in 6500 which MNAC Photos 19th and 20th centuries. Pictures like Riot Police taken by Agust ÙŠ Centelles, July 19, 1936 and the monument of Christopher Columbus by Francesc Catala -Roca are good examples of photos there.

One of the most interesting sections is the Andian Catalonia including 130,000 pieces of coins and medals. The very rare piece of GRD Emporion belonging to third century BC and Pirral from Mesina belonging to Petter II period are presented in this section. Another element that can not be overlooked is a piece of 10 reals Barcelona, Louis XIV.

Gothic art has been attributed much of MNAC. Gothic art was very popular in the 12th century. A gothic artist would try to include as much history as they could on one painting, sculpture or murals. "Life and Legend of St. Nicolas" is a sample of it. This fresco as the name clearly shows a complete account of the life of Saint Nicolas. A piece of tempera on wood in this section that had the eyes of the writer of the Virgin altarpiece was transferred from the monastery of Santa ÙŠ a in Sigena March 1918. Each of these masterpieces and hundreds of others, alone, sufficient to express the idea behind Gothic art.

Perhaps the most interesting fact is that MNAC dose not only to attract art lovers. To reach the museum must take measures around 100 on the hill of Montjuic how the view of Barcelona is breathtaking.
